TESTIMONIALS

"All the sessions were well organised and planned. There was a good level of skill teaching and self-directed learning. The skills progressed well and built upon previous knowledge.

"I liked the class code of conduct which the children developed with you and was shared in lessons. This gave them an ownership of good sportsmanship and team work.

"It was great to introduce the ‘Happy Hockey’ ethos of sharing ideas and having a drink at half-time,
The children voting for their player of the block of sessions was a new and engaging idea, mirroring that of sports clubs."

1-2-1 HOCKEY COACHING

A session built around you and your individual aims and needs.

No two sessions are the same, because no two athletes are alike.

Create your own written record and training plan.

FACT FINDING

Each session starts with a fact-finding discussion to establish prior experience, aims and parameters. We build from where you are, not where we assume you should be.

MOVEMENT FOCUSED

Movement opens with a functional warm-up focusing on core muscle groups and closes with a breath-based cool-down to return the body to homeostasis.

HOCKEY-SPECIFIC EXERCISES

Exercises take a holistic approach integrating technical, tactical and team aspects to learn and apply skills in game-related contexts.

COACHING PHILOSOPHY

Coaching follows the humanistic school, particularly that of Carl Rogers' Person-Centred Therapy, to promote interoception and self-discovery.

REFLECTION

During and to finish, athletes are asked to reflect on session content and to make a personal written record of insights to keep for future reference.
